UNDERSTANDING THE SAT/ACT EXAMS
The New SAT has not been kind to Black Students. There are more word problems on the Math Section and this section now includes Trigonometry. The ACT Exam has been similarly altered.
It is impossible to be accepted by a selective college with an SAT score below 1300 (on a 1600 scale), or an ACT score below 29 (on a 36 scale.)
Nationally, only 225 Black Students score 1500 on the SAT. NCC’s Black Students accounted for 133 of them!
Many Black Students attend schools that do not put them on a verbal or quantitative track to achieve the ‘high achiever’ status required by selective colleges.
The National College Center provides the guidance and resources for your Black Student to excel on SAT/ACTExams.
Black Parents must become experts on The SAT Exam.
